HTML or Flash? A Headache for Website Design Companies
Website and web designing standards fluctuate and vary with every website designing company. Many website design companies have further explored the industry standards and capitalized on them to develop them further and increase their productivity. This is main reason why usually a website design company contradicts the approach and implementation of its competing website design company. This unethical practice has been going on since the birth of internet and web and this practice still continues in smaller organizations. One thing that adds fuel to this fiery battle is the lack of knowledge on the part of the customers since most customers are not very well aware of the developments and the changing and switching trends in the website design industry. We are of the opinion that there are certain technical standards that must be followed while designing websites but when it comes to creativity and the art of website designing it is a simply matter of aesthetics and taste.
Till to date, the most debated topics between different professional website design companies range from the format a website, content management platform, designing the layout, how to professionally present the website, internet marketing, and SEO or search engine optimization. There is no one size fits all solution to any of these debates and as tempting as it may sound, declaring your solution as the ultimate or perfect is nothing more than living in a fool’s paradise. Technicalities aside, the perfect solution ultimately comes down to the preference of the client, his/her aesthetic choice and the creativity of the website designer. The only other way around to declaring any solution as perfect is when you have substantial real life evidence to back your claims. Regardless of all these issues, there are certain things to consider when you are hiring any website design company or are entering into a working relationship with any website design firm.
The battle for supremacy between flash and HTML is almost over, courtesy of JQuery. JQuery has solved and resolved the tension between beauty and practicality. The plus point of using Flash was to add the element of animation and beauty to any website design but it disturbed the functionality and functional elements of HTML and that is why the use of Flash was frowned upon by both the developers and the major search engines. But that does not mean that the days of Flash are over or numbered, the element of “cool” is still associated and provided by Flash better than any other software. JQuery has no doubt proved itself as a viable replacement of Flash in smaller instances but it is far from proclaiming itself as an absolute replacement or alternative of Flash.
HTML remains the preferred choice for website development for most web design companies. This is because of the fact that HTML allows expansion with content in a relatively easier manner as compared to a Flash based website. The other thing going in the favor of HTML is that most social media websites are built using HTML because HTML websites are indexed better and quicker by search engines. There has been some development with flash indexing but search engines still have a long way to go before they can completely index a flash based website. The best solution to end this war is a hybrid combination of both flash and HTML so you can have the eye-candy of flash and the organization and functionality of HTML.
